The Bible is a veritable treasure trove of God’s very thoughts (2 Pet 1:20-21). I have so many favourite verses and passages but I believe that our walk in this world can be summarised in one verse when our Lord Jesus says to the apostles:

He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

Mat 16:15

This is the most important question in life. In fact, if you can’t answer this question correctly, literally nothing else matters. This is a question that we shall all face one day and it will be asked of us by God

I am privileged to help with the street tract ministry with my church. On the street, non-believers will want to talk about a whole myriad of subjects but I always bring it back to Christ because when it comes to Salvation, this is the one and only question that we will be asked. Not our position on abortion or suffering or politics but who we think Jesus was

Peter answered correctly:

And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven

Mat 16:16-17

There is no other way to be reconciled back to our Father in heaven without us accepting Him as our Lord and Saviour

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me

John 14:6

So, when I’m on the streets, I urge people to think about Jesus and to come to a decision about this man who lived 2000 years ago truly was. I offer to show them what the Bible says about Him. One day, they will have to answer that question in front of God
